Before you start

A survey nobody reads is worse than no survey, because it spends the goodwill of being asked and returns nothing. The webhook step is there so the answers reach a person. Decide who reads them before you send the first one.

You will need: a list, one campaign, a webhook url.

How to set it up

  1. 1Build the survey anywhere that can post to a webhook, or use a form that emails you.
  2. 2Choose the Ask what they think template and trigger on your main list.
  3. 3Set the wait to roughly how long it takes somebody to form an opinion of your product. Two weeks is a reasonable default.
  4. 4Assign the survey campaign, and put the first question in the email itself rather than behind a click.
  5. 5Put your webhook URL in the webhook step so answers reach whoever will act on them.
  6. 6Activate.

What goes wrong

  • Asking everybody on day one. You will measure first impressions and call it satisfaction.
  • Leaving the webhook URL empty. The flow runs, the step does nothing, and the responses sit in a form you forget to check.
